Wordy Guy!

Yes, a new year, a new Wordy Guy! (...all the people said, "YaY!")

I think you'd know the rules by now, but I would be remiss if I were to not mention them: No cheating with your Wikipedia or your Google or your MrV Iconic Lexicon and Dictionary of Stumpers.

Also, no wagering; this is not a competition, it's only for fun. If there is any wagering, you will need to split winnings with Mr V and me.

Final answer

Umiak
A. a large boat made of skins
B. a large lodge used by Eskimos to conduct public meetings
C. a wild ox native to Nepal, close relative to a yak

Dammit Woman made the first correct guess, while Innominatus cared more about covering all bases in the most creative way. Both are winners in my book, and since it's my contest, I can say that. Congratulations to you both!

Can I get a pronunciation hint? Does it sound like oomiak, youmiak, or ummiak? The pronunciation may impact the smart-alecky guess I'll be making later...

Gotta be a boat. I mean what self-respecting Inuit would live in an Umiak anyway? And everyone knows there ain't no oxen in Nepal.

No pronunciation help? OK, fine! I'll guess anyway...

Sarah Palin silently paddles her umiak (a large boat made of skins of her enemies) 'twixt the islands and channels of southern Alaska. A serious looking bolt action in .375H&H hangs from her shoulders in a sling, ready for action. She would have brought her .460 Weatherby Mag, but the synthetic stock just sooooo didn't go with her blouse....

Paddling upstream through a brackish estuary, she sees in the distance an oomiak. Many famous liberals are gathered there for a public meeting. And a feast. A large quadruped mammal turns on a spit outside, above the fire. Sarah stealthily debarks from her umiak and approaches. Michael Moore is wringing his hands greedily, anticipating the bellyful he'll soon enjoy. "That smells so good. That's gonna be one tasty Nepalese ox. Mmmmm... Yummyyak..."

Moore, seeing Sarah approach, is uncharacteristically gentlemanly and offers to share: "Welcome to our oomiak where we are roasting a yummyyak. I'm willing to share. Would you like some?"

Sarah replied in disgust "Sharing? You? Me? Ack!!!!"

Win, lose, or draw -- Innominatus out-did himself on this one. "You? Me? Ack!!!" That is side-splitting funny!!! Where does he come up with this stuff?
