Camp Coffee part II

Went down the hall to the coffee nook to grab a cup of joe. Not that I was craving it, you that know me are aware of the my policy on a "need to joe basis". An I need it today.

Poured up a tall mug of it and was ready to pour the very last of the dregs when I noticed the the dregs looked like ground coffee. Sure enough, checking the filter basket I saw that the paper filter had fainted and allowed the grounds to exit with the rest of the brew.

Dang. Not only do I have to drink this coffee, I have to chew it, too!

Gabby Hayes would be proud. If only I'd had some eggshells to put in the pot to make the grounds settle out...

Yuk..........nothing worse than the dredges of a coffee pot! You did make a fresh pot, right?

Nope, they didn't need any more, so with approval, I left it empty. Empty but CLEAN!

Chock full 'O nuts is that heavenly coffee; better coffee a millionaire's money can't buy...

Yeah Tex, but this was "Chock-full-'O-GROUNDS" coffee...(p-too) I'm still spitting out little bits of bean.

When you start spitting wooden nickles give me a call.

I actually like a bit of ground coffee sprinkled on my ice cream from time to time. Bitter and sweet. Smooth and gritty. Yin and Yang. It all works.

I_Tex - thatz ruining ice cream. Try sprinkles, nuts..not coffee grounds.

dammitwomann, really. Try it. Don't use spent grounds, but freshly ground coffee beans and just a pinch. It's really good. Honest. My wife likes those fru-fru flavored coffees sprinkled on hers.

i_Tex - yannow, your wife might have something there. I mean I'd try the flavored creams...still not sure about coffee grounds though.

Guess I'll just trust you on this one, OK?

Well, I'm half Cajun and most Cajuns like coffee and anything connected to coffee. Time to time, I like to plop a few whole coffee beans into my mouth and let them slowly start dissolving. After about 2 minutes, I chew up the beans and swallow the grounds. It's a high-octane, unfiltered caffeine punch. Maybe I should add some eggshells to crunch along with the coffee beans.

Rob, now you're talking. We've had expensive, chocolate-covered coffee beans and coffee rub for grilling meat. It's not just for the pot anymore.
